The boat launching facility. This came about because of the unsustainable practice of boats anchoring in Bill's Bay, disturbing the coral And creating user conflicthhz with the swimmers. It was both dangerouslyv and ecologically unsustainable. DEC was responsible for understanding the negative impacts Of these practices, and worked collaboratively with the Dept. of Transport and the Coral Bay Progress Association in creating a more environmentally responsible solution that satisfied the needs of the community and the tourism industry's .

As a result of moving the boats out of Bill's Bay, it has created a much safe place for the swimmers and the damage that was being done to the coral has stopped. The unfortunate consequence is that with the improved boating facility it increases the level if access, projecting greater usage onto the Marine Park with the potential for greater boating and fishing impact.
